Most people don’t care to think of the details of their salvation. Your understanding of salvation affects the way you worship. Salvation must be understood in a Trinitarian sense in order to be Biblical. Today, Pastor Arnold focuses on Ephesians 1:1-6 and the role of God the Father in salvation.
(A PowerPoint Presentation accompanies the beginning of this sermon) Like the people in the pictures, some people who claim the name of Christ never stop and carefully count the cost before embarking on the adventure of the Christian life. Pastor Arnold walks us through Luke 14 to help us soberly consider the cost of being a believer.
If McDonalds’ one day dropped the ‘golden arches’ as its’ logo, stopped serving Big Macs and completely changed the way they do things – would they still be recognizable as McDonalds? Similarly, many churches today have adopted worship, music and ministry practices that make the church no longer resemble the church for the sake of being ‘relevant’ and ‘relational’ to the culture. Pastor Arnold examines Jesus’ words in Mark 8 to show us what the church should look like.

When a person says, act, thinks, or even lives as there is no God, he has cancelled the opportunity of learning and understanding. It is this mindset that all men have without the working of the Holy Spirit working in their life. They live and act with a mindset that says “No God for me”. This sermon will remind us that without the work of God’s Spirit, we all are naked before God, filled with corruption and always doing abominable deeds. The Lord Jesus is our refuge against God’s ongoing investigation on the wicked fools of this world.
