Pastor Paulo Freier
Scripture Reference: Job 2

One of the lessons we learn in the book of Job is that God is sovereign over all things. Temptation is something everyone will face; and while the adversary will use it against him, God uses it for his ultimate good. Pastor Freire shows us in selected passages in Job 2 how God uses temptation to make us holy and refine our souls.
If we were going to a costume party, we would not be able to get in unless we were properly dressed. The same is true in living out the Christian life-there is a need to prepared for the coming of Christ. How are we to dress before a holy God? Pastor Arnold shows us in Colossians 3:12-13 what to put on so we can be pleasing to God.
In the Christian walk, we can be distracted by the things of the world. To think on things above and not be concern with the world is easier said that done. How are we supposed to live our lives on earth while thinking heavenly? The instruction Pastor Arnold teaches us to put this in perspective focusing on Colossians 3:1-17.
A lot of people view the Christian life as filled with joy and happiness, but Psalm 90 shows us that there is a dark side of human life. We are encouraged to lead lives of authenticity, recognize our position before God, and love others through reconciliation and forgiveness. Dr. VanGemeren instructs us to live for God in Psalm 90 in the context of 2 Corinthians 5:11-21.
