In the world many people see their job as the focus of life. But in the community of faith, we are to serve the Lord in the job that we are in. How are we to submit to our employer and have our worship and work be devoted to Christ? Pastor Tony teaches us from Colossians 4:1 and Ephesians 6:5-9 how the master/slave relationship was viewed during the time of slavery, and how this concept relates in our daily walk in Christ.
Raising children is an ongoing discussion in the world, and in church we are to raise our children according to God’s word. How do we handle disobedient children in relation to the community of faith? Pastor Tony Arnold challenges us from Colossians 3:20-21 and Ephesians 6:1-4 how parents are to instruct their children and to be effective members of society, not doing evil.
In the world love is based on conditions and fails to satisfy, but God demonstrates biblical love in election by choosing us, not because of what we possess. As we grow in Christ we see a love that forgets self and looks towards others, and we are to imitate the love Christ has for the church in marriage. Pastor Tony Arnold teaches from Colossians 3:19 and Ephesians 5:25-33 the parallels of love and sacrifice in church and marriage.
As Christians, we are going to have good days and bad days. We are to be thankful for the blessings God provides us, and when the time comes to made choices, we are to seek His wisdom and trust His will. Pastor Leon Green shows us the pattern in the life of Solomon in I Kings 11:1-10 and reminds us that God’s standard for him is the same for His people.
