The body of Christ is a community of limitedness and character. The limits of our being bound together are determined by faith, not experience. Dr. VanGemeren discusses our unity in Christ and how to increase our fellowship from Romans 14 and other passages.
While we try to make sense of the absurdity of this world, it’s important to remember to have our hope in our heavenly Father and not the temporal things around us. Dr. Willem Van Gemeren reminds us in Ecclesiastes 12:9-14 the need of having continual spiritual insight in living life before God.

The salvation that we have in Christ Jesus is something no one can take away, and is the foundation in our relationships. Are we loving others in order to meet our own needs? How are we to serve one another without fear? Dr. Willem Van Gemeren instructs us in 1 Peter 3:1-17 why we need to seek holiness and remember that we are co-heirs with Christ.
We spend a lot of time looking for security and protection in the things of the world rather than having faith in the provision and blessing God grants us daily. How can we walk with the Lord in a way that is authentic and true? Dr. Willem Van Gemeren instructs us in Psalms 127 & 128 how we are seek the Lord alone for contentment, vitality, and all satisfaction in a world of lament.
A lot of people view the Christian life as filled with joy and happiness, but Psalm 90 shows us that there is a dark side of human life. We are encouraged to lead lives of authenticity, recognize our position before God, and love others through reconciliation and forgiveness. Dr. VanGemeren instructs us to live for God in Psalm 90 in the context of 2 Corinthians 5:11-21.
